Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the sole survivor of the Ahmedabad plane crash and inquired about his well-being. PM Modi also met other injured individuals at Ahmedabad Civil Hospital and asked about their condition. Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took stock of the crash site in Ahmedabad. Gujarat Chief Minister, Union Civil Aviation Minister, and senior officials were also present with the Prime Minister.
Air India Plane Crash in Ahmedabad
On Thursday, Air India flight number AI-171, which had departed from Ahmedabad for London Gatwick, crashed in Meghaninagar just minutes after taking off from Ahmedabad Airport. A total of 242 people were onboard, including 2 pilots, 10 cabin crew members, and 230 passengers. In this accident, Air India confirmed the death of 241 out of the 242 people onboard.
Among those on the crashed aircraft were 169 Indian citizens, 53 British citizens, 7 Portuguese citizens, and 1 Canadian citizen. The sole surviving passenger is a British national of Indian origin.
