SOL Strategies Scales Up: More Validators, Stronger Solana Governance

In its March 2025 update, SOL Strategies announced a major expansion of its validator network and renewed its commitment to actively participating in Solana’s on-chain governance — signaling a firm stance on decentralization and long-term ecosystem health.

Validator Expansion Strengthens Network

According to the update, SOL Strategies onboarded an additional 12 validators across geographically distributed regions, bringing its total to 38 active nodes. The move is aimed at improving Solana’s network resiliency, uptime, and decentralization — critical metrics as the chain continues to scale in throughput and adoption.

“Expanding our validator presence is not just about performance,” the firm stated. “It’s about ensuring that Solana remains secure, distributed, and community-driven.”

Each new validator is said to meet high operational standards, with real-time monitoring, enhanced security layers, and sustainable energy practices baked into the infrastructure.

Governance Participation Ramps Up

Alongside the technical upgrade, SOL Strategies has pledged to be more involved in Solana’s decentralized governance process. The firm participated in 92% of protocol-level votes during March — a record for the organization — and has submitted its own proposal aimed at improving the delegation transparency framework.

“Governance is where the future of the chain is shaped,” the company wrote. “We’re not just staking — we’re speaking up.”

The firm also launched an open governance tracker on its website, allowing the community to follow its voting decisions and rationale in real time.

Market and Community Reaction

Community feedback to the update has been largely positive. Prominent Solana builders and community members praised SOL Strategies for “walking the talk” on decentralization and setting an example for other large validators.

SOL token holders also responded favorably, with delegations to SOL Strategies reportedly increasing 8% since the announcement.

Looking ahead, SOL Strategies plans to host community AMAs and roundtables on governance topics, while continuing to invest in validator infrastructure in underrepresented regions.

As Solana pushes further into DeFi, NFTs, and real-world use cases, validators like SOL Strategies are playing a crucial role in shaping not just the network’s technical backbone, but also its values.
