Trump’s Crypto Push: Coinbase CEO Says New Legislation Will Drive Investment
LONDON (Reuters) – Donald Trump’s second term as U.S. president is expected to drive a significant influx of investment into cryptocurrencies, according to the CEO of Coinbase, who spoke at a panel discussion at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
“The Trump effect cannot be denied. Having the leader of the world’s largest GDP country come out clearly and say that he wants to be the first crypto president is a huge statement,” said Brian Armstrong, CEO of Coinbase.
Armstrong added that new legislation in Congress is likely to bring substantial new investment into cryptocurrencies, noting that bitcoin’s recent all-time high was largely attributed to Trump’s inauguration.
