Bank of Baroda (Bank), one of India’s leading public sector banks, announced the inauguration of its new Regional Office in Ranchi, Jharkhand. The Bank also opened a new branch in Gurdari Village – its 63rd branch in Ranchi and 122nd branch in Jharkhand.
Shri Joydeep Dutta Roy, Executive Director, Bank of Baroda inaugurated the Regional Office in Ranchi, in the esteemed presence of senior bank executives and staff members of the Region. The Gurdari bank branch was inaugurated by Shri Sonam T Bhutia, Zonal Head – Patna and Shri Shankar Mahto, Regional Head – Ranchi Region, with senior Government officials and local villagers in attendance.
The Gurdari branch is located in a remote location in Gumla district. The branch will serve approximately 245 neighbouring villages, providing banking facilities to around 45,000 villagers.
Shri Sonam T Bhutia, Zonal Head – Patna, Bank of Baroda said, “We are pleased to expand our presence in Jharkhand, deepening our commitment to this vibrant state. The opening of the Gurdari branch increases the Bank’s penetration in rural India, providing banking access to unbanked communities and fostering financial inclusion in the region. This branch will also serve some of the ancient tribes of Jharkhand such as Birhor, Asur, Baiga, Kharia and Kurukh.”
